Donald Trump is to address the general assembly of the United Nations today – his third speech to the world body.

Mr Trump, expected to speak around 9:30am (2:30pm UK), has been tight lipped about the content of his speech. But he is likely to discuss Iran, religious freedom worldwide, and Venezuela.

His speech will be preceded by Jair Bolsonaro, Brazil’s president, who took office in January and is making his UN debut. Mr Bolsonaro is expected to address themes of sovereignty and independence – and hit back at his critics for describing the Amazon fires as a global problem.

Also speaking today is Emmanuel Macron, the French president, Canada’s Justin Trudeau, Turkey’s leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and British prime minister Boris Johnson.
