Queen: Adam Lambert and band in STARTLING news as 2020 UK arena tour announced

Queen + Adam Lambert are set to team up again for a huge 2020 arena tour, and tickets go on sale Wednesday at 9am. The group and its new bandmate performed sell-out shows around America this year, in what ended up being a whopping 25 shows. But now UK and European fans can get excited, as they can watch the Rhapsody tour closer to home next year. The duo will perform 16 shows in England and Europe of spring next year, and the dates will mark the band’s first European concert since the film Bohemian Rhapsody was released.

Queen are set to perform in New York’s Central Park this weekend at the annual Global Citizen Festival, but it seems the group’s revitalised success shows no signs of slowing down just yet.

Rhapsody has already been praised as “a marvel of technical advances,” so concert-goers can expect an unforgettable night of music and entertainment.

The show begins with 17 arena and stadium shows in Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, and Australia.

And Queen and Adam Lambert then take the show back to the UK and Europe starting from late May.

The European leg launches in Italy on May 24, and the final stop is in Denmark on July 1.

When it comes to the UK, the band will play five London shows at The O2 Area beginning on June 2.

Tickets for the UK dates on the “Rhapsody” tour go on sale to the general public today, 25 September at 9.00am.

Tickets (maximum of six tickets per booking) are priced from £45.00 and available from ticketmaster.co.uk and queenonline.com

Over the six weeks of this leg on the “Rhapsody” tour, European audiences will at last have the chance to see the epic new show which has drawn awe and acclaim all through its North American run, and became Rock’s hottest ticket of the year in the USA.

Production designer Lipson has promised the new production is “a new chapter in the history of the band.

“Once again for them expanding the parameters of what a live music experience can be, this new show delivers the band’s most spectacular yet.

“It is an innovative and interactive celebration of the continued power of Queen’s music.”

Guitarist Taylor said excitedly: “We’re back and we’re hot.”

And May echoed: “This is a fearsome new production taking the Queen legacy to a new place.

“I’m well proud.”

“I can’t wait to get back to the UK and Europe, we had a blast on our last tour,” Lambert went on. “And I am so excited to bring this new show over there!”

“Adam is a real gift from God,” May has also said about his collaborator. “He’s a voice in a billion. Nobody has that range — nobody that I’ve ever worked with — and not just the range but the quality throughout the range. I’ve now seen Adam develop just like I watched Freddie develop.”
