Lidl issue urgent food recall warning over serious allergy fears – affected item here

The supermarket chain, Lidl, has issued an urgent warning for anyone who has recently been shopping in store. Shoppers are being asked to check their fridges as the company have recalled three items due to not being labelled clearly. The foods have been deemed as unsafe for anyone who has an allergy or intolerance to milk, wheat or egg. The ingredients on the list were not labelled in English which means those with allergies may have missed the important information.

The recall affects those who have been shopping in Lidl stores in Northern Ireland as some products do not have all ingredients listed in English.

The Food Standards Agency website said: “This makes the product unsafe for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or its constituents, an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten and/or an allergy or intolerance to egg.”

Three products in the store have been affected and shoppers should check their fridge for the batch.

Chicken Bites

The affected products have the pack size of 250 grams, the batch code of CH: 9247701 and the use by date of 29 September 2019.

Chicken Crispies

The products at risk also have the pack size of 250 grams, batch code of CH: 9247701 and use by date of 29 September 2019.

Chicken Wings

Products with the pack size of 300 grams, batch code of CH: 9247701 and use by date of 29 September 2019 could be affected.

The food items contain milk, wheat and egg which have not been mentioned in English on the label.

This means the product is unsafe for anyone with an allergy or intolerance and they are being urged not to eat it.

Instead, shoppers can return the items to the store where they were bought and they will be given a full refund.
