Last of Us 2 release date CONFIRMED, new PS4 trailer revealed during State of Play

Last of Us 2 has made its first appearance in over a year during today’s PS4 State of Play broadcast.

A new trailer for the Last of Us 2 was revealed during the State of Play stream with the release date for the PS4 title also getting confirmed.

Naughty Dog’s highly anticipated Last of Us 2 has a release date of February 21 2020.

The latest Last of Us 2 trailer that was showcased during State of Play revealed more of the world that TLOU 2 will be set in and the backdrop to the plot.

Ellie looks to be out for revenge after a tragedy seems to be befall someone close to her once again.

The brand new Last of Us 2 trailer showcased for the first time the Clickers that Ellie will be fighting against and (**spoiler alert**) showed Joel for the first time.

Elsewhere in the PS4 State of Play broadcast the campaign trailer for Call of Duty Modern Warfare was revealed.

And a limited edition PS4 Pro console that is marking the Death Stranding release was also announced.

In the aftermath of the Last of Us 2 release date announcement the game’s director Neil Druckmann took to Twitter

He posted: “Now can you please leave me alone about the release date.”

While the PlayStation Twitter tweeted: “How far will Ellie go to exact justice? Watch the gripping new trailer for The Last Of Us Part II Coming to PS4 February 21, 2020.”

Sony also announced during State of Play that the Last of Us Remastered will be featuring as a PS Plus game for October 2018.

The classic Naughty Dog title will be one of the free PS4 games next month alongside MLB The Show 19.
