Kelvin Fletcher: Strictly star called out by pro dancer Oti Mabuse for being late

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 contestant Kelvin Fletcher, 35, kept his professional dancer partner Oti Mabuse, 29, waiting on her own in the dance studio this morning.

The former Emmerdale actor headed to rehearsals for day two of this week’s training but kept the South African beauty patiently waiting for his arrival.

After wowing viewers with his sexy Samba on Saturday night, the dancing duo now have to learn a whole new routine ahead of Saturday night’s live show.

In frustration, the no-nonsense dance teacher took to social media to call out the star on his lateness.

While sitting on the floor of the studio waiting for the TV star to arrive, Oti took to her Instagram Stories to share a vlog with her 267,000 followers.

She said: “I’m waiting, I’m looking at the clock and it says 10.05am and I am waiting. Lord knows I not a patient one.”

Kelvin arrived a few minutes later with a coffee and breakfast in hand, ready to get cracking on their week two dance – the Waltz.

During a short break from training a couple of hours later, the Latin and Ballroom dancing star shared a “random” clip of the actor attempting to balance horizontally on the bar.

Speaking out of view of the camera, she added: “Guys, this is what I am getting…”

Following a successful appearance on the opening show at the weekend, which saw Kevin and Oti top the leaderboard with an impressive first score of 32 points, the pair will need to work hard to reclaim the top spot.

Yesterday, Kelvin told his Twitter fans: “So today we have been rehearsing for our next dance…..The Waltz! Certainly no hip action or booty shaking in this one! Just smooth footwork (well I hope so) and what feels like endless spinning!”

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 continues Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One.
