Dan Walker: BBC Breakfast star in spat over controversial tweet on Premier League star

Dan often engages with his fans on the platform and recently he posted a tweet which pictured, Premier League footballer, James Maddison. In the tweet, Dan showed Maddison his transparent Louis Vuitton backpack. Accompanying the tweet, Dan said: “Fancy that Maddison rucksack? £6500.”

Soon after posting the image, Dan received multiple replies questioning why he had posted the tweet.

Scott Gordan attacked Dan and asked the BBC star what he spending his BBC wage on.

In response, Dan joked and revealed that he was buying a new TV.

He said: “Buying a TV to watch Scotland at the Rugby World Cup. Have a good one.”

The BBC presenter also used a wink face and thumbs up emoji to go with his tweet.

In response, Mr Gordan said: “Better than watching BBC Breakfast though.

“Long may the World Cup last.”

Another user also questioned Dan and wondered why the BBC star had brought up the issue.

However, Dan quickly responded by insisting that it was purely out of curiosity.

Dan said: “Fair point. Just wondered what it was worth. Have a good one.”

Away from the debate over the Premier League star’s backpack, Dan recently shared his verdict on Strictly Come Dancing following the performances of his BBC colleagues, Alex Scott and Mike Bushell.

Initially, Dan tweeted: “Looking forward to seeing Mike Bushell & Alex Scott hit the Strictly floor tonight.”

He then added: “I’m sure Mrs Jones & Mr Jones have been working them hard.

“Hope they both stay in Strictly for ages.”

However, after witnessing Alex in action, Dan praised his colleague for what was an incredible performance.

The presenter added on Twitter: “Wow!

“Alex has got some serious Strictly game.”
