The bizarre thing Chelsea fans did inside Stamford Bridge before Liverpool loss

Chelsea fans unfurled an Eden Hazard banner at Stamford Bridge before Sunday’s loss to Liverpool.

The Blues lost 2-1 to the Reds and dropped to 11th place whereas the visitors continued their perfect winning run in the Premier League.

However, before the match started something strange happened from the home end as they seemed to have paid a baffling tribute to a former player.

The Chelsea fans unfurled a huge banner that had Hazard’s name on it even though the star winger moved to Real Madrid in the summer.

Liverpool supporters were left stunned and responded with a chant of “What the hell is that?!”

Various fans then took to Twitter and poked fan at this odd incident.

One user tweeted: “Anyone want to tell them they’re a bit late with the Hazard banner?”

Another posted: “Eden Hazard banner? Seriously?”

And a third one wrote: “Omg there’s a hazard banner being passed around Stamford Bridge, I wonder if he’s watching.”

The Belgium international joined the London club in 2012 from Lille and quickly rose to prominence.

The 28-year-old scored a staggering 110 goals and produced 92 assists in 352 matches.

The Belgian completed a £150million move to Real after seven years at Stamford Bridge but it still seems like he is a fan favourite among the Chelsea faithful.

Hazard has yet to score a goal for his new club but has only played in three matches so far.

The Spanish giants are struggling to reclaim their old dominance after two draws in La Liga and a 3-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League opener.
