Britain’s Got Talent 2019: George Sampson details tragic injury moments before performance

Britain’s Got Talent 2019 brought in a new collection of champions to the show last night to fight it out once again. Included in the group of winners was George Sampson – former winner of Britain’s Got Talent in 2008.

Last night, he made his return to the show after spending years working on his routine, and indeed honing his craft.

However during the introductory VT to his performance, George revealed he had been given some dreadful news shortly after winning the competition.

Over video clips of him winning the show, George narrated: “Around a year after winning Britain’s Got Talent I sustained a really bad back injury.

“Doctors told me I might not ever be able to dance again.

He went on to say: “You’ve come back as a man, a champion, a great guy. I’m absolutely thrilled you’re here.”

George himself was overwhelmed with emotion as he thanked the judges for their time.

He said: “I wouldn’t change it for anything.

“It’s been the most amazing time in my life. I owe it all to this show.”
