Mark Ronson, 44, hails from London’s Notting Hill and was raised in New York City. A musician, DJ, singer, songwriter and record producer, he has been credited as the driving force behind some of this generation’s era-defining records, including Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black and Bruno Mars’ Uptown Special. He has won scores of awards for his work, including the Oscar for best original song, Shallow, written for the film A Star is Born, and has seven Grammy awards to his name.
What is sapiosexual?
The Cambridge Dictionary defines sapiosexual as “a person who is sexually attracted to intelligent people”.
Sapiosexuals are people who value a ‘meeting of minds’ more than physical attraction.
Mark made the comment about his sexuality to ITV presenter Kate Garraway during GMB.

The topic came up after discussing French minister Marlene Schiappa, who was mocked for calling herself sapiosexual.
Garraway commented that Mark had become very involved in a dressing room debate on the topic before going on air.
Mark said: “Yeah I didn’t know that there was a word for it.
“We were all arguing backstage in the dressing room with a couple of your producers.
“And yes I feel like I am identifying as sapiosexual.”
Garraway and co-host Ben Shepherd congratulated the chart-topping producer for being “out and proud”.
Shepherd said it was great news particularly considering Mark’s “heartbreak” over his split from ex-wife Joséphine de La Baume.
When asked how he was doing following the divorce, he said: “It’s been a while so I’m doing alright.”
Mark and Joséphine, a French actress and singer, married in 2011 after she appeared in Mark’s music video for The Bike Song.
On 16 May 2017, it was reported that Joséphine had filed for divorce from Mark, listing the separation date as 21 April 2017.
The divorce was finalised in October 2018.
Since 2018, Mark has reportedly been in a relationship with Saturday Night Live crew member Rebecca Schwartz.
He was on GMB to promote his new album, Late Night Feelings, which features the likes of Miley Cyrus, Angel Olsen, Lykke Li and Camila Cabello.
