Recent winners of this mile event have been a moderate bunch but, in the past, it was a stepping stone for Derby winners – Henbit, Shergar, Shahrastani and Authorized.
The once-raced Cape Prince has a long way to go before reaching those heights, but he impressed when winning on his debut at Newcastle last month.
