Washington shooting: At least six injured in horror US capital attack – 'Massive presence'

According to local police, five other people have been shot. Local police have reported that at least two people are in critical condition. Moreover, as reported by US journalist, Steve Herman, the attack occurred just 3.5km (2.1 miles) from the White House.

There have been no reports on suspects.

It has not been confirmed if there are any more casualties.

Moreover, according to Allison Papson of Fox 5 DC news, one adult male was “conscious and breathng”.

Another male, was “unconscious and not breathing” while an adult “female is conscious and breathing”.

Ms Papson also reported that “homicide has been called”.

The journalist also revealed that the attack occurred on the 1400 Rhode Island Avenue NE at 10.22pm local time (3.22am BST).

Local police have confirmed that the victims have all been transported to local hospitals.

Despite Ms Papson reports, Washington DC Police have confirmed that the shooting took place on the busy 1300 block of Columbia Road NW.

Driver and pedestrians have been advised to expect closures in the local area.
