ITV Loose Women: 'I couldn't tell him' Ola Jordan on moment she learnt she was pregnant

Former Strictly Come Dancing professionals first revealed the news Ola was pregnant earlier this month after a successful course of IVF treatment. In their first TV interview on Loose Women since the big reveal, the pair shared their heartache of failing to consummate naturally, as well as the tearful moment the expectant mother discovered she was with child.

The professional dancers have been together for 20 years and since both leaving their roles on Strictly, they have been trying to start a family.

After trying for three years to no avail, the couple turned to professional help to fall pregnant, with their first child due in March.

Telling the ITV panel how she discovered she was expecting, Ola said: “I did a test, he [James] was on the golf course.

“I cried, I was over the moon,” the dancer declared with glee.

Continuing, Ola said: “The thing is with IVF, because we couldn’t get pregnant for a long time, you don’t believe it.

“You’re like is it OK, is it normal,” she added before revealing who James came to learn he was going to be a father and she was so overcome with emotion, she couldn’t tell him.

“I waited for him to get home and I gave him the test because I couldn’t actually tell him.

“I couldn’t say it, I was so upset, so happy. I did loads [of tests].”

“It is really hard. You inject yourself every evening,” she said.

“You’re swollen even before you get pregnant.

“We had journalists saying ‘she hasn’t been drinking and she’s really swollen on the belly, she’s pregnant.’

“Actually, I’m going through fertility treatment, I was already quite swollen on the belly, so that’s quite hard.”

“It’s really hard mentally more than physically. The injections didn’t bother me,” the former Strictly star commented.

Announcing the news earlier this month, Ola took to Instagram to share a picture of her and her husband smiling at an ultrasound picture.

Writing to her 218,000 followers, the dancer revealed: “I can’t actually believe I’m writing this but I’m so happy to say James and I are expecting a baby.”

Concluding the post, the expectant mother commented: “I can’t wait to meet this little person growing inside me and give them all the love I possibly can.

“I still can’t believe I’M HAVING A BABY. Love you all.”

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
