ITV GMB: Sally Challen fights back tears as she recalls moment she killed her husband

However, she did get support from her fellow prisoners and commended her sons for standing by her.

“They were very, very supportive, they have all lived through this,” she said.

“My sons and Jen [her son, James’ partner] have lived this sentence with me.”

Concluding the interview, Sally said: “I feel like I want to tell my story, to make people aware of what coercive control is and what it means.

“I’ve got a lot of time to make up for, a lot of things I want to do.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
