Sony’s latest smartphone, the Xperia 5 is now available for pre-order over at EE – and the network is offering quite the deal.

Price plans start at just £40 per month, and you can get it with 10GB of data and a £30 one-off fee for just £49 per month. That’s likely to ensure you’ve got plenty of data for streaming music, YouTube or movies on your morning commute.

Even better, customers pre-ordering the Xperia 5 between 18th September and 3rd October can grab themselves a pair of Sony WF-1000XM3 earbuds. These are worth £220, so this deal is well worth jumping on. In fact, Express.co.uk recently awarded theses wireless headphones 4 out of 5 stars when comparing them to Apple’s AirPods.

As with other EE deals, the network even offers a Service Pack as part of all plans – including £10 off a case or screen protector, an annual device and account MOT, and a lifetime guarantee. Not bad at all.

Finally, you can grab a Swappable Benefit or two depending on which plan you choose, and these range from bonus music, video or data streaming, BT Sport, Prime Video, or a roaming extension.

The Xperia 5 is built with comfort in mind, so it fits effortlessly in your hand. This means that despite having a 21:9 CinemaWide 6.1-inch screen, it’s comfortable to use with just one hand. That screen makes it great for games, too.

It’s also no slouch in the performance department, with an impressive 6GB RAM alongside a Snapdragon 855 processor.

It also offers Dolby Atmos sound, and a three-lens 12 MP camera, not dissimilar to the iPhone 11 Pro, and an 8 MP front camera for selfies.

The phone includes 128GB of space for your apps, photos and other content, but you can also just pop a MicroSD card in to expand this up to 512GB.

“With Xperia 5 we’ve brought what our customers loved from Xperia 1 into a smaller design with the latest award-winning technology from Sony,” said Mitsuya Kishida, President, Sony Mobile Communications.

“Xperia 5 continues to bring uncompromised performance and leading experiences to a smartphone, only possible with Sony.”

It arrives in three colours, ships with Android 9 Pie and is available in the UK from Friday, 4th October 2019.
