MH370 announcement: Harrowing new theory to be revealed – ‘Were they misled?’

On March 8, 2014, Malaysia Airlines’ scheduled international flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing disappeared with 239 people, including the crew on board. At 6pm today, a group of aviation experts will reveal a new MH370 theory at an event in Brussels. Jean-Luc Marchand; Jean-Marc Garot and Argiris Kamoulakos will unveil new details at the event titled: ‘Flight MH370: was air traffic control deliberately misled?’

The Royal Aeronautical Society, who are hosting the event, said the group would present a “plausible trajectory” for the missing plane.

The society’s preview said: “Three members of the CAPTIO Team will be in Brussels to present their views on the disappearance of MH370: Jean-Luc Marchand; Jean-Marc Garot and Argiris Kamoulakos.

“They are engineers who have used information gleaned from official reports, radar and satellite data, publications from the scientific community and evidence derived from debris recovered to posit theories about what could have happened.

The official search led by the Governments of Australia, Malaysia and China ended in January 2017.

Investigators were unable to reach a definitive conclusion as to what might have happened during its final moments.

A private search by Ocean Infinity signed by Malaysia began a year later in January 2018.

The team had searched more than 37,000 square miles (96,000 square kilometres) of the Indian ocean but the hunt came to an end just five months later.

This is a developing story, more to follow…
