Mate 30 Pro may not be the only new smartphone revealed by Huawei tomorrow

Mate 30 Pro is tipped to be revealed on-stage tomorrow at Huawei’s latest hardware reveal. The new smartphone will supersede the Mate 20 Pro and boast a revamped camera system, curvaceous new display and turbocharged internals.

Images of what appears to be handset have leaked ahead of its debut thanks to reliable tipster Evan Blass and reveal a more contemporary design than its predecessor thanks to a new circular camera system and thinner bezels around the screen.

Surprisingly, it seems the Mate 30 Pro might not debut in an array of dazzling colour schemes – as was the case with Huawei’s P30 Pro. Instead, it looks like the flash new hardware will arrive in much blander shades of lilac, purple, black and turquoise.

But tomorrow won’t be all about the Mate 30 Pro as it seems Huawei is set to reveal a cavalcade of other smartphone models at its event tomorrow.

They are…

Huawei Mate 30

Huawei typically releases three variants of its new smartphone series to cater to budget, mid-tier, and premium markets.

And the Shenzhen-based firm’s Mate 30 lineup is expected to be no different.

Huawei is tipped to be readying the reveal of a standard Mate 30 that is expected to retain a number of features from its premium brother but make some sacrifices to achieve its lower price tag.

Alleged photos of the product published by Evan Blass suggest it will come with a smaller notch than the Mate 30 Pro because it only packs two front-facing cameras as opposed to the three on the higher-end flagship.

Blass also showed a picture of the back of the regular Mate 30 which looks almost identical to the Mate 30 Pro.

However, as is usually the case with mid-tier Huawei handsets, it is expected the regular Mate 30 will come with a downgraded camera system.

Just like the Mate 30 Pro, the presumably cheaper handset is not expected to come pre-installed with any Google apps and services.

Instead, it’s tipped to run Huawei’s EMUI 10 software based on open-source Android 10.

Huawei Mate 30 Lite

Expected to be the cheapest model in Huawei’s new Mate 30 series, the Mate 30 Lite is anticipated to look very similar to last year’s Mate 20 Pro.

A supposed shot of the forthcoming device was once again outed by tipster Blass and it seems the hardware will come with a hole-punch display and a square camera system on its back panel.

Unlike the regular Mate 30, it is expected the Mate 30 Lite will be downgraded internally – meaning it will likely not be powered by Huawei’s super fast Kirin 990 chipset.

Huawei Mate 30 RS

Already confirmed by Huawei, the Mate 30 RS will continue the long-standing relationship between Huawei and Porsche Design.

Just like previous Porsche Design smartphones from Huawei, it’s likely the Mate 30 RS will come with all the same features as the standard Mate 30 Pro but tote a different design and perhaps increased RAM and storage.

Evan Blass has once again tweeted images purporting to show the unannounced device and it seems the product will feature a leather-style texture on its rear and, of course, flaunt its Porsche Design branding.

Porsche Design smartphones from Huawei typically cost notably more than standard flagship models.

Huawei Mate 30 X

Last year Huawei surprised Android fans by unwrapping the Mate 20 X alongside the rest of its Mate 20 series. The device was colossal – boasting a enormous 7.2-inch display, dual speakers and a 5,000mAh battery.

During the reveal of the phablet, Huawei focused heavily on its gaming capabilities and even declared it was more capable than the Nintendo Switch for playing games on-the-go.

There have been no rumours to suggest Huawei will release a Mate 30 X, but it certainly would not be alien for the company to surprise its fans with another gargantuan smartphone. Fingers crossed, eh?

What else?

In addition to smartphones, Huawei has already confirmed it will introduce its new Watch GT 2 wearable on stage in Munich.

The device is expected to look more contemporary than its predecessor but similarly be geared towards fitness fanatics.

It is possible the Huawei Watch GT 2 will run the firm’s new HarmonyOS that was first announced in April.
