Pixel 4 and new Google Home release – Google reveals major event next month

After months of rumours, leaks and speculation we finally know when Google will reveal its new devices to the world.

The US technology firm has just sent out invites to an event in New York with everyone expecting a Pixel 4 and new Google Home speaker to revealed along with plenty of other surprises.

If you are a fan of this brand then October 15 is the date you definitely need to pop in your diary.

As well as the release time, Google also included the words “Come see a few things made by Google” which could indicate it will be a busy evening.

Along with its new Pixel phones and smart speakers, there could also be an upgrade to the firm’s tablet and laptops.

Plus we might get some bonus features arriving in Google’s Assistant.

The big news will, of course, be the launch of the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL with rumours rife that these devices are set for some big upgrades.

These could include a triple rear camera, facial recognition for added security and improvements to the display and processor.

A video posted on YouTube by the US tech firm also shows how users will be able to use gestures to control the device.

The clip, which has been viewed over two million times reveals a user moving her hands to change music tracks.

Refreshed colours could also be unveiled at the event with some leaks suggesting an orange design is coming to this Android phone.

These new phones may also be joined by another popular upgrade as we’re expecting a new mini smart speaker to be shown off at the event.

Back in August, 9to5Google claimed the American firm was planning to release a second-generation of the Google Home Mini that could tote a built-in wall mount, improved audio and more.

Specifically, the hardware was said to tote a louder maximum volume and better bass performance.

Most notably, it was declared the product would be called the “Nest Mini” – bringing the its naming convention in line with the Google Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max.

The outlet said the forthcoming Nest Mini will look relatively similar to the Home Mini with some differences such as a built-in wall mount and a 3.5 millimetre stereo port.

We’ll find out full details on October 15.
