Piers Morgan: GMB host’s wife not happy as he jokes about sleeping with Susanna Reid

Piers Morgan, 54, has presented alongside Susanna Reid, 48, on Good Morning Britain for the past four years.

But his wife, Celia Walden, was left unimpressed when he made a cheeky joke about sleeping with Susanna if they were both single.

Piers made the quip in an interview with Daily Mail’s Event Magazine, saying: “Well if we were both single we’d be at it like stoats in a sack.”

Celia shared a photo to Instagram of the magazine, sat alongside a cup of coffee on a table.

Piers’ spouse of nine years wrote: “The headline every wife wants to read on a Sunday morning #mythoughtsarewithsusanna.”

In the interview, Piers joked about their “sexual tension” and said: “What it is, is a forcibly arranged marriage.

“You spend hours together every day, you have to put up with each other, agree, disagree and bicker but you have none of the benefits of a marriage and none of the marital ways of relieving the tension.”

Susanna moaned: “Oh please, not the sexual tension AGAIN.”

Piers added: “Well if we were both single we’d be at it like stoats in a sack.”

Susanna shut him down and responded: “With other people, of course.”

Piers and Celia tied the knot in 2010 and the couple have one daughter together, Elise, seven.

The Good Morning Britain host also has three sons Spencer, 26, Stanley, 22, and Bertie, 18, who he shares with his ex-wife Marion Shalloe.

Meanwhile, Piers jetted out to Turin, Italy, at the weekend, to interview Juventus footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo.

The father-of-four uploaded many pictures of himself posing with the former Real Madrid star to his Instagram.

Their meeting was all part of Piers’ huge interview with Cristiano, which will be aired on TV tomorrow night.

During the emotional chat, the Portuguese footballer broke down in tears as he discussed the heartbreak he feels at not having his father around to witness his achievements.

Cristiano was shown footage of his late father, Jose Dinis Aveiro, in 2004 where he spoke about how proud he was of his son.

The 34-year-old said: “I never saw the video. I never saw that video. Unbelievable.”

Piers said: “To hear your father speak about how proud he was of you must mean a lot to you?”

Cristiano replied: “Yes, a lot. I think the interview would be funny, but I didn’t expect to cry.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am.
