Dog the Bounty Hunter 'rushed to hospital' just months after wife Beth Chapman's death

Dog The Bounty Hunter, 66, was reportedly hospitalised over the weekend due to a heart emergency, according to TMZ. The television star was said to be taken to a Colorado hospital after he felt chest pains and it has been claimed he may require surgery. The publication have reported the reality star may have suffered a heart attack.  A representative for Dog told the publication: “I can confirm Dog is under doctor’s care and is resting comfortably. Thank you for all of your well wishes – keep ’em coming.”

It comes just three months after he lost his wife Beth to cancer, with Dog confirming the tragic news via his Twitter account in June.

In a heartbreaking post, he wrote: “It’s 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.”

The couple’s daughter Bonnie also shared a touching tribute on Instagram.

Beth was first diagnosed with throat cancer in September in 2017 and two months later, she announced it had been removed.

Unfortunately, it soon returned and spread to her lungs and in a recent post, Beth alluded to having stopped chemotherapy.

She told her fans: “Chemotherapy is not my bag, people. Sorry, that’s not for me. So for me, this is the ultimate test of faith. This is my ultimate lesson.”

In December, Dog – whose real name is Duane Chapman – revealed Beth’s cancer had returned and explained it had become “incurable”.

Speaking to InTouch Weekly, he said: “I have to keep faith, I am the leader of the family.

“She thinks she is, but I am. I have to keep it where I don’t have any doubts and keep everything positive.”

Dog recently spoke out about his wife’s death and discussed her final moments.

Speaking to Hawaii News Now reporters outside his home in June, the star said his spouse asked if her family members were okay before her death.

Duane added she also wanted him to repeat the words “in Jesus’ name” several times.

He said: “When she had an attack I didn’t know anything to do but to say ‘in Jesus’ name’ and hold her and when I said ‘in Jesus’ name’ she said, ‘Say it again, say it more.’”

Duane added: “And then she, you know, she told the girls and everybody with her mouth and stuff she said, ‘I love you guys, are you guys all OK?’ But she never accepted it.”

Speaking further of his loss, Duane added: “It’s terrible, the most terrible time in someone’s life.

“You kind of try to remember that you’re celebrating life, but right now we’re mourning the death, so it’s not good.

“The cancer gig, of course, we’ve gotta find a cure,” he added. “Because all we have now is some get lucky, but most pass away.”
