Jeremy Clarkson: 'Worst I've had' TV host recalls request from producer to change look

The Grand Tour star Jeremy Clarkson, 59, said he was asked to get a haircut by a producer, recalling the moment as the “worst” request.

When asked if he has had any work done to improve his appearance, he insisted he wasn’t bothered about the likes of botox and teeth whitening.

He told The Sun: “Of course I haven’t had Botox and no, no one has ever suggested I get my teeth whitened, or have filler.

“The worst I’ve ever had was a producer telling me ahead of this new series to get a haircut.

“I said, ‘You do know what’s happening in Syria, don’t you?’ But I did get it cut, not that you’d notice the difference.”

Last week, Jeremy Clarkson hit back at an ITV viewer who queried his look on the show.

Following the end of last weekend’s episode, ITV shared a picture of Jeremy alongside details about contestants’ winnings.

“And that’s it for tonight – let hear it again for Julian who won £250,000 and Chris who won £16,000 join us again next Sunday for more #WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire,” they wrote in view of their 19,000 Twitter followers.

On this post, a Twitter user queried: “Why does @JeremyClarkson look like he is profusely sweating??”

Not holding back, Jeremy replied: “Because I am? Could that be it?”

Since the revival of the show last year, contestants now have the opportunity to ask the host for help with one question.

Last weekend, Jeremy responded to a fan who questioned his knowledge after he failed to help a contestant with an answer.

Contestant Julian asked Jeremy for his help with the question: “Which of these Conservative politicians served the longest as Chancellor of the Exchequer?”

The multiple choice answers were Kenneth Clarke, Geoffrey Howe, Norman Lamont and George Osborne.

Appearing hesitant, Jeremy replied: “I simply don’t know. That’s my final answer.”

After failing to answer the question, one user queried: “How is ‘ask the host’ even a lifeline?? @JeremyClarkson do you know anything?”(sic)

Jeremy replied: “Well I knew that sort of.”

The Twitter user responded: “Sort of? The whole viewing population needs you to commit! #hewontknow #idontknow #finalanswer.”

Jeremy replied with a simple: “Ha!”

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? continues tonight at 8pm on ITV.
