Tyson Fury reveals how Anthony Joshua could ruin plans for Deontay Wilder rematch

Fury returns to action this evening just 12 weeks after defeating Tom Schwarz to face Otto Wallin.

Wallin has been touted as a potential banana skin by Fury himself, but he stands as the overwhelming favourite to maintain his unbeaten record.

Most are expecting Fury to come through the contest relatively unscathed, with attention soon to turn once again on a rematch with Wilder.

It was confirmed in July by the ‘Gypsy King’ that a contract has been signed by both fighters for February 22, 2020.

The fight will be yet another opportunity for Fury to win the only heavyweight belt he hasn’t held against the WBC heavyweight champion.

Wilder will first take on Luis Ortiz in a rematch of their thrilling 2018 bout, but there will also be eyes on another heavyweight contest this year when Joshua aims to regain his titles against Andy Ruiz Jr in December.

And Fury is wary that if Joshua loses again then Wilder’s promoter may try to wriggle out of the contract for their fight in February.

“I’ve signed and Wilder has signed,” he said on DAZN USA.

“The only reason this wouldn’t happen is if Ruiz beats Joshua and Al Haymon decides to put Wilder and Ruiz together.

“It will be from the same stable, unification for all the belts.

“But I’d still have his name on a contract so he can’t do that without consulting me first.”
