Karim Zeroual: Strictly star 'to dedicate appearance on show to late pal' after heartache

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Karim Zeroual, 25, was good friends with Louella Fletcher Michie, the late daughter of Holby City actor John Michie, 62.

Louella died after taking drugs at Bestival back in 2017, just hours before her 25th birthday.

CBBC star and Louella were said to be good friends who “loved to dance” together.

Now, it has been revealed Karim is likely to think of Louella during his time on the show.

A source told the Daily Record: “Karim thought the world of Louella and loved to dance with her.

“There is no doubt she will be in his mind during some of the more emotional moments of the show. He really adored her.”

The publication added Karim has plans to dance in her memory with his dance partner Amy Dowden, 28.

According to the insider, Karim and Louella regularly attended music events and festivals together.

They added the duo were “kindred spirits” and often stayed at each other’s houses.

Following the news of Louella’s death, Karim paid a tribute to his friend.

In view of his 24,000 followers, he wrote: “Words can’t describe how I feel today. You were so special to me.

“The years we had together and the times we had have always been jokes, because you were never without a smile.

“The only girl in the world I can call my best friend and my sister.

“I love you forever and always. RIP beautiful Lou. Gone too soon. #loveforlouella.”

Karim shared a further picture and video of the pair from their younger years, with the caption: “Will always be in my heart. My G! #loveforlouella.”

The pair were often seen in pictures together on each other’s Instagram pages.

In one video uploaded to Louella’s Instagram page in 2014, Louella nominated Karim to take part in the viral ice bucket challenge.

In another picture, Louella was seen placing a kiss on Karim’s cheek as he smiled for the camera during a night out.

Later this month, Karim will take to the dance floor with Amy for their first dance; a Cha Cha Cha.

The Strictly Come Dancing 2019 live shows start Saturday September 21.
