TV Good Morning Britain: Ben Shephard teases major new role 'I'm all over it'

Ben, 44, was continuing to fill in for Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan, 54, joining fellow star Kate Garraway, 52 to present the show as she stepped in for Susanna Reid, 48.

As the ITV news show came to an end today, Ben and Kate were joined by SAS: Who Dares Wins star Ant, 38, to talk about his new book The Fear Bubble.

Discussing his own worries while tackling the most extreme of challenges, the hosts asked Ant about his time on the Channel 4 reality show.

With a new civilian series of the programme beginning in January, a celebrity edition will also air next year with Ant probing Ben about a possible role on the show.

The SAS: Who Dares Wins star said: “People want to learn about themselves, therefore, they want to learn about their emotions because that’s obviously what makes us work.

To be a part of that and nurture that and see people progress and again, those small spaces they open up for themselves, it’s fascinating to see.

Ant then asked the host: “You going to be on the next one Ben?” with many famous faces having taken part on the reality show in the past.

Ben jokingly replied: “I’m all over that. No problems.

“Unfortunately, you know my agent very well. Im sure you can try and organise that,” the presenter quipped.

Kate said: “I’d love to see you do something like that.”

Ben continued: “I would love to do that because that sort of mental challenge is something we’ve talked about a lot.”

Ant himself has recently spoken out about signing up to other reality TV show, with his programme compared to the likes of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!.

Speaking with Metro.co.uk, Ant said: “I’ve got nothing against [reality TV].

“I’m in that media world. That’s what makes the world go round, everyone’s different.

“But I can’t see myself stepping into that. My goals are different,” the former solider revealed.

Although it waits to be seen whether Ben will be signing up to the hit reality show, the presenter is currently taking on Piers’ role after the regular host returned to screens last week following a lengthy summer break.

Ben’s first stand in for Piers came yesterday with fans of the regular host disappointed by the presenter’s absence so shortly after his summer hiatus.

On wrote: “When the kids wake up and ask why @piersmorgan isn’t on @GMB thismorning.”

Another remarked: “Need my @piersmorgan fix @GMB . Can’t watch without him.”

Piers will be back on Monday morning, as he and Susanna don’t usually work five day weeks, with Ben regularly filling in for the host.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
