Channel 4 confirmed earlier this year that Rick and Morty season four would be airing exclusively on the broadcaster. The show has previously been available on Netflix in the UK but now the British broadcaster has struck a deal with Adult Swim to air its content. However, it’s not clear if the series will be on Netflix UK now that Channel 4 has the rights to show it. Channel 4 has already made the first three seasons available on its streaming service All 4 from February this year, giving fans plenty of time to catch up.
When is Rick and Morty coming back?
The UK release date has yet to be confirmed by Channel 4 but any news is expected to be announced soon.
Once Rick and Morty is available to watch on the platform it means it will be free fro viewers to watch in the UK.
Speaking about the hit adult animated series coming to Channel 4, the broadcaster’s director of programmes Ian Katz said: “Rick and Morty is one of the most anarchic, ingenious and original shows around and the breakthrough animated hit of recent years. I’m thrilled that it’s coming to Channel 4 and E4.”
Along with Rick and Morty, audiences can watch other Adult Swim favourites like the classic Robot Chicken, Tigtone, Samurai Jack and The Eric Andre Show.

Other programmes from Adult Swim now available to watch for free include Mr. Pickles, The Venture Bros, Aqua Teen Hunter Force and Hot Streets.
Back in May 2018, co-creator Justin Roiland revealed US network Adult Swim had given Rick and Morty the go-ahead for season four.
On top of that, he announced Adult Swim wanted 70 more episodes.
Following on from the good news, Roiland told Polygon: “We’re super excited that, for the first time ever, we’re locked in, we know what the future is, we have job security.”

He continued: “[Co-creator Dan] Harmon is in great spirits, we have a great writer’s room.
“We want the episodes to stay good, but we do also want to try to turn them around a little quicker now that we have this big order, I think it gives us the ability to be faster.
“We’re not going to do these long breaks, these chasms in between seasons anymore.”
Roiland added: “We’re going to schedule vacation time and just keep the machine going. It’s going to be really cool.”
Despite the 70-episode order, Rick and Morty will be retaining its 10-episode per season format for its fourth outing.
Both Roiland and Harmon confirmed to Entertainment Weekly back in July that the format would be staying the same.
On the future of the show with such a massive order from Adult Swim with Harmon reflecting: “It’s way too early to say. On any given day you’ll feel like this thing can go for 20, 30 seasons.
“We have characters that don’t really age, it’s very Simpsons-esque. There’s so much we can do to keep riding this train.”
While Roiland added: “Sure I’ll end it! But I don’t know that would be on 70. I would be equally unsurprised if you told me that this thing goes for 20 years.
“I wouldn’t balk [sic] at that at all. If it still feels right, let’s do it.”
