Google Maps Street View: Passerby looks unruffled at shocking event happening next to him

On a sunny day in an unknown location, it appears a fire hydrant has sprung to life, splattering the Google Maps camera as it passes by. While there is no sign of imminent danger in the surrounding area, water still bursts through the air, sending rainbows into the camera’s lens as it catches the sunlight. Only metres from the scene a person seems to be wandering by, looking straight ahead, clearly unfazed by the street side shower. The man, dressed all in black, seems more concerned with his journey than the water almost close enough to soak him.

While the pedestrian seems to be staying dry, opting for the lucky paving stones just out of reach of the hydrant’s jets, the area closest to the Google camera appears to be soaked.

Perhaps burst water pipes are a regular occurrence in this neighbourhood, or maybe there is some ongoing work just out of shot.

Either way, the viewer will have to piece together their own plot for this abnormal occasion.

It’s not the only unexplainable moment seen through the Google Street View camera.

In India, a spooky sighting in a glass shop has left viewers scratching their heads to come up with a theory as to what is happening.

The featured shop appears to be complete with a mirror at the end of the long room, in which a man dressed in a lilac shirt stands almost directly beside the Google camera.

However, in a chilling turn, when the view of the camera is turned around to where the man should be stood, he is nowhere to be seen.

Some viewers have their own speculations; could this be a clever camera trick designed to hide the man from the main view, or could something more supernatural be at play?

Eerie folklore tells that vampires have no reflection in mirrors, meanwhile some theories claim that cameras are able to sporadically pick up ghostly sightings that remain unseen to the human eye.

Meanwhile, another baffling moment was captured in Texas’ Martha Chapel Cemetery where one of its trees hides something shocking. Peering out from behind the trunk of one of the cemetery’s mighty trees is a spooky figure.

Interestingly, the face appears to be just as concerned to see the camera as the Google viewer may feel.

The figure could simply be a low resolution image of a live person, or maybe even an abnormal knot or lump on the tree’s old, gnarled bark.

However, the grey complexion and cemetery setting lends itself to something from beyond the grave. After all the cemetery setting  seems the most likely place for a ghost to pop up.

Whatever the explanation for these bizarre sightings, its all thanks to Google Street View for revealing them to the world.
