Dan Walker: BBC Breakfast host lashes out as England beat Kosovo in qualifier ‘Ridiculous'

The presenter is renowned for sharing his views on the social media platform, sparking debate among his loyal army of followers. He is also known for his love of sport, as he even presents BBC One’s weekly show Football Focus. But after England completed a 5-3 victory over their Group A rivals, Dan made his thoughts known.

He posted: “Ridiculous but entertaining game of football.

“Anyone have it down for an 8-goal thriller?”

His fans were quick to react to the post, offering an insight into the game as well as the state of football in general.

One wrote: “Right side of England defence, really poor!

“Get it sorted.

“Sterling missing some many sitters did not help!”

Another said: “What were the odds that Kosovo would even score 1 goal ????”

A third added: “This might be a bit patronising, but I think Kosovo should get a point here.

“Scoring 3 and losing should be worth more than 0-2 after sitting the team in your own six yard box for the whole game.”

It comes after Dan admitted to feeling “inadequate” after revealing details of a surprise “fan boy moment”.

In his usual ‘Monday Motivation’ post, the presenter gushed over how incredible a high jumper was in completing a set of challenges.

In the video shared by Dan, Swedish athlete Stefan Holm is seen jumping easily over a set of bars.

Dan captioned the video, with: “Retired Swedish high-jumper casually leaping about like a salmon.”

Dan was later teased by fellow Olympian Katharine Merry who told him to “limber up for your salmon jumps in the morning”.

The BBC Breakfast host added: “I saw him last year and had a huge secret fanboy moment.”

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am.
