Bravo producers are scrambling to find a replacement for Bethenny Frankel on Real Housewives of New York, and Wendy Williams says Frankel’s departure is a “detriment” to the city. But, would Williams consider taking Frankel’s place for Season 12?
During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Williams talked about the Real Housewives franchise, one of her favorite “hot topics.” And, she said that while she hates to see Frankel go because she is one of her favorite Housewives, her joining the cast wouldn’t be any better.
“I had not read that rumor until I heard you deny it on Hot Topics,” Cohen said to Williams, to which she replied, “I read it on the blogs. I’m like, ‘What?’”
Williams also gave her opinion on the addition of actress Garcelle Beauvais to the cast of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and the talk show host says that she loves Beauvais and she’s known her for years. Williams explained that if she can “come through” like Lisa Rinna did, then she’ll be just fine. She also said that being on RHOBH was “beneath” Beauvais because she is an actress. But, if you have to pay the bills and there are no acting roles, you’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do.
Williams also said that it would be “less than smart” for Tamra Judge to leave Real Housewives of Orange County if Bravo demoted her to a friend of the show.
The talk show diva also talked about her “least favorite guest” on The Wendy Williams Show, which she said was a man – not Omarosa Manigault Newman like Cohen guessed.
“No, I wasn’t even thinking of her,” said Williams. She then told Cohen to “stop thinking” about who her least favorite guest is because she wasn’t going to drop a name. And, when he replied, “Why? You think I’m gonna get it?” Williams said, “No, you won’t.”
As for her favorite guest, Williams said that she doesn’t have one. But, she did add that having her parents Thomas Williams Sr. and Shirley Williams in the audience was important because she wasn’t the kid in the family who was supposed to grow up and be “the big deal.”
“I was fat and tall and awkward and all talking too much and weird, I guess. So the idea of my parents coming on my actual show and seeing me succeed, they are my favorite guests, from the heart,” said Williams.
And, when Cohen asked her about what she has learned after her difficult year in the public eye – going through a cheating scandal and divorce from Kevin Hunter – Williams said, “I really like the new me.”
