New Apple Watch Series 5 revealed and it finally gets a feature we’ve been waiting for

Apple Watch Series 5 has been revealed during today’s major Apple event in California today.

After last year’s big revision to the Apple Watch the Cupertino tech giant have once again introduced a big upgrade to their popular smart wearable.

For the first time ever the Apple Watch will feature an Always-On Retina display so the watch face is always visible.

Apple said the screen on the new watch intelligently dims when a user’s wrist is down and returns to full brightness with a raise or a tap.

This will ensure that its easy for Apple Watch Series 5 owners to always be able to see the time and other important information.

This revolutionary display won’t affect the battery life though, which Apple says will still last for 18 hours.

Apple’s Steve Ng described the Apple Watch Series 5 as the “most capable Apple watch ever”.

The Apple Watch Series 5 will also introduce other new features, such as a built-in compass and the ability to call emergency services internationally simply by holding down the side button.

The new Compass app will let users see what their heading, incline, latitude, longitude and current elevation is.

And they will also be able to add one of three new Compass complications to their watch face to see their direction at a glance.

The brand new smart wearable will also come in a number of new cases – titanium and ceramic.

These new cases will be available alongside aluminum and stainless steel versions, with the former made from 100 per cent recycled aluminum.

Speaking about the Apple Watch Series 5, Apple’s chief operating officer Jeff Williams said: “We’ve seen Apple Watch have a meaningful impact on our customers’ lives and we’re excited to deliver even more capabilities with Apple Watch Series 5 and watchOS 6.

“The seamless integration of new hardware and software delivers an enhanced experience that makes it even easier to stay active and connected to the people and information users care about.”

The next Apple Watch will also come loaded with watchOS 6 straight out of the box.

WatchOS 6 brings with it a number of health features, such as the new Cycle Tracking app which helps women monitor their menstrual cycle.

While the new Noise app helps users detect when they’re in an environment that could damage their hearing.

The Apple Watch Series 5 can be ordered from today after today’s big Apple event finishes.

The Apple Watch Series 5 is priced from $399 for the GPS version and $499 for the cellular model.

It will be available in stores stores starting September 20.

Apple’s Series 3 Watch will also still be available and will be available to buy from just $199.
