Melania Trump humiliation: FLOTUS creates Twitterstorm after celebratory post causes fury

The First Lady wrote on social media how she was looking forward to the organisations “incredible” work, with it she posted a video of herself attending an event at the centre last month. She said: “The Kennedy Center’s new addition The REACH is an investment in the future of the arts and humanities for our next generation. “I look forward to the incredible work that will come from this living theatre.”

Scores of disgruntled critics responded to Melania to share their opinions on her celebratory post.

One person tweeted: “Look at you claiming credit for something that you had nothing to do with.”

Another said: “Get stuffed!”

Other Twitter users took it as an opportunity to take a jibe at her husband, President Donald Trump, as well as comparing him to the Kennedy family who the centre is named after.

Joyce Stacks wrote on Twitter: “Don’t you also love that the Kennedy’s are a famous Democratic dynasty? #resist.”

Susan Kohi said on Twitter: “It’s appalling that you have any connection to the Kennedy Center or anything else with the Kennedy name attached.”

Another said she was probably looking forward to the living theatre more than the “circus” in her home.

Others highlighted the “hypocrisy” of Melania’s celebration.

Jamie Jenson said on Twitter: “Sadly, your husband’s work negates all of, yours.”

Janna Herrington tweeted: “I wish you would continue without your husband. You don’t need him anymore.

“You have your own connections, your own ability and your own support. I do think you care but haven’t been given a voice.”

Another said: “The haters are out today. Why even comment or follow her. It is because you are haters. Keep up the great work.”

Despite the tirade of criticism, the First Lady was defended by waves of fans on Twitter.

@Erikajakins wrote on Twitter: “Beautiful FLOTUS she’s amazing!”

Rota Harrell tweeted: “Our First Lady is one of such class and fortitude.”

Another added: “What a wonderful First Lady of the United States.”
