Chrome update today as Google releases major upgrade for your browser

If you are a fan of Google Chrome then there’s some exciting news being announced today as the US technology firm has now officially released its latest Chrome 77 update.

This latest upgrade has been in a beta test phase for a while but users can now get their hands on the final version of this populat software.

Chrome 77 will be rolling out from today across the world with users able to download and install it.

Chrome should automatically place the update on your device when it becomes available with users then prompted to restart their browser.

You can also check manually by clicking menu > Help > About Google Chrome.

So, if you have Chrome 77 installed on your PC what new features will you find hidden inside?

Perhaps the biggest change is the ability to find more ways to customise this browser.

When opening a new tab you’ll see the customise option at the bottom of the screen.

Along with being able to add your own background images there now a “Refresh daily” option which will automatically change the way things look each 24-hours.

It’s not just the background image that can be changed with users also able to pick new colours for the menu bars at the top of the browser.

You can now have a combination of two colours with set themes or the chance to use a colour picker to choose your own.

Along with a new look you can now customise the Shortcuts section that appears when you launch Chrome with the ability to add more of favourites sites and you can now remove this option entirely if you don’t find it of any use.

Along with these obvious changes, there’s a number of behind scenes updates with Google posting a full list of changes on its blog.

It’s a big day for upgrades with Apple also set to announce a swathe of new products later today.

The US firm is holding an event at headquarters in Cupertino tonight where it is not only expected to reveal its next smartphones but also when users can expect to see the firm’s latest software arrive on their devices.

iOS 13, macOS Catalina and iPadOS release dates are all expected to be announced with the big reveal taking place from 6pm tonight.
