PUBG Mobile Season 9 start date revealed by Tencent following update news and leaks

A new PUBG Mobile Season 9 update is being planned for later this week on Android and iOS.

And this time, we’ve been given the official start date and release schedule with days to spare.

There’s also a good chance that PUBG Mobile Season 9 will launch as part of a new update.

Tencent launched a new beta build of the game earlier this week and are looking for players to test it.

No official patch notes were shared regarding patch 0.14.5 but it doesn’t look like there will be any new weapons or vehicles included.

According to news shared by the official PUBG Mobile Twitter account, Season 9 has a start date set for September 13.

This will mean a Friday launch for most PUBG fans, although there is a chance of regional differences.

Due to how Tencent like to roll out their patches, some gamers may receive the new content later than others.

This is a good way to avoid server issues, with many gamers eager to jump in and download the new patch as soon as possible.

A recent message from Tencent reveals: “With Royals Pass Season 8 drawing to a close, that can only mean Season 9 is almost here! Are you ready to battle it out, starting September 13?”

It should also be noted that while Season 9 is starting in PUBG Mobile, this won’t be the same for PUBG Mobile Lite.

Both games are treated as separate entities and means they don’t share the same schedule. We don’t have an exact release time for the new PUBG Mobile update, which will be arriving on Friday.

Tencent usually begins rolling out their patches at 1am, usually first on Asian servers, followed by other regions.

The good news is that we should hear more about the Season 9 launch in the coming days, before the final release.

Fans have also been learning more about the upcoming launch fo Season 9, although not directly from Tencent. Leaks have been appearing online, confirming some of the new gear and Royale Pass content being worked on.

Season 9 will see a lot of new cosmetic items added to the game, as would be expected with the launch of the Royale Pass.

The theme of the season is expected to be “Warriors Unite,” and will include some notable new loot. Gamers will be able to unlock new Samurai Gear, although much of it will be cosmetic in nature.

New challenges will also be added to the game as part of the Season 9 rollout, although what they will entail remains a mystery. As ever, we can probably expect a new trailer to be launched with the new Season rollout later this week.

This will include official news on what is included but there should also be a few teaser images appearing online in the coming days. These will tease the upcoming theme and what other cool stuff we can expect to be included.

Season 8 included a number of new features and modes, something that isn’t expected with the launch of Season 9.

This included:

  • PP-19 Submachine Gun – The latest addition to PUBG MOBILE’s deadly arsenal of weapons arrives just in time for Royale Pass Season 8. Players can now experience the awesome force of the fully automatic 53-round magazine loaded with 9mm ammunition;
  • Third Person Perspective (TPP) Mode – Just one month after the blockbuster success of PUBG MOBILE’s Team Deathmatch Mode, players can now experience the rapid-fire action in Third Person Perspective;
  • Royale Pass Season 8 – This summer, PUBG MOBILE sails out to sea for an unprecedented nautical season, packed with unlockable and equipable lost treasures of the ocean;

However, there is a good chance that Tencent will provide more improvement to help improve the overall experience.
