EA Sports have revealed the top 100 rated players ahead of the upcoming FIFA 20 release and will unveil individual statistics for each star this afternoon.
PS4 and Xbox One gamers are set to get their first look at specific player ratings later today, with EA announcing their official rankings at 3pm.
The FIFA franchise has traditionally conducted a countdown of player rankings ahead of each new game but have broken away from tradition with a bulk release this year, confirming the top 100 last week.
This may in part be due to a leaked list of ratings that circulated online suggesting Lionel Messi would pip Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo as the game’s highest-rated player.
Express Sport have shared the the leaked list and official top 100 below, and it is possible to already draw some conclusions from which players have been left out of the elite collection.
Dutch winger Arjen Robben is missing following his retirement while Medhi Benatia and Luis Filipe featured last year but have moved to leagues that are not included in FIFA 20.
And there are 21 other players who have seen their ratings slip in the past 12 months, with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Riyad Mahrez all missing out.
Ivan Perisic, Diego Costa, Cesar Azpilicueta and Vincent Kompany have also missed the cut while Gareth Bale, Andres Iniesta, Gonzalo Higuain and Gianluigi Buffon are further casualties of the rating recalibration.
