Kyle Brittain hasn’t been seen since he set off alone on a hike nine days ago, setting off a growing search effort for the 27-year-old. Brittain was called a hero five years ago when he rescued his mom from a fire, and his father tells NBC News that Kyle was an experienced hiker.
