iOS 13 release – iPhone users set for blockbuster Apple news this week

Apple’s iOS 13 was first announced back in June at the firm’s WWDC developers conference.

Now it seems we are just a few days away from finding out when this blockbuster update will be officially pushed out to phones across the globe.

Apple is holding a global event at its headquarters in Cupertino on Tuesday and, along with announcing its next generation of smartphones, it’s almost certain an iOS 13 release date will be revealed.

Apple almost always uses its September keynote to reveal when its new software will be made available for download and there’s nothing to suggest 2019 will be any different.

The big event begins at around 6pm BST on Tuesday, September 10 and expect plenty of major news to be revealed.

As a quick reminder, iOS 13 brings a swathe of bonus features to your iPhone including the highly anticipated launch of Dark Mode.

This new colour scheme will transform the on-screen appearance and it will even be available in apps such as Mail, Messages and is open to third-party developers.

Along with that enhanced appearance, there’s plenty of other features coming in iOS 13 including an improved Photos app, better reminders and more ways to edit your pictures and video.

Apple also revealed something called QuickPaths back in June.

This new feature brings easy one-hand typing to the iOS keyboard by continuously swiping through the letters of a word.

Finally, everything should be a little faster once this update is installed with Apple boasting that apps will load at a more rapid rate and Face Unlock should be even more seamless.

“iOS 13 brings new capabilities to the apps you use every day, with rich updates to Photos and Maps, and privacy-protecting features like Sign In with Apple, all while delivering faster performance,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering.

“We’re excited for customers to experience what’s coming to iPhone this fall and can’t wait for them to see how great everything looks in Dark Mode.”
