Deepika has only just arrived back in India after filming in London with her husband Ranveer Singh. The pair were completing the upcoming cricket drama ’83. The Bollywood beauty has already hit the catwalk at Mumbai fashion week for her old friends Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, causing a sensation with an impromptu boogie at the end. Now she is back on screens with her old sparring partner Ranbir Kapoor and wasted no time insulting him.
The humorous new scenes show the pair bantering and laughing – and quite possibly flirting – in the latest advert for Asian Paint.
It is not the sexiest subject but the pair have enough chemistry and charisma to make up for it. Ranbir and Deepika were previously paired up for the Mijwan Welfare Society fundraiser fashion show in Mumbai last year, where they hit the catwalk holding hands.
The running joke in the new advert is that Deepika’s lovely home has been painted in Asian Paint’s Royale Health Shield which kills off bacteria, while Ranbir’s has not, leaving him covered in bacteria.
We don’t have such a thing in the UK, nor would we probably find it a handy way to playfully flirt in an advertisement, but every country has a beloved series of adverts where neighbours spar and joke and slowly move towards something more.

Apparently, the paint contains Silver Ion Technology, as recommended by the Indian Medical Association (IMA).
Most viewers will be more focussed on seeing where all that flirting goes next.
Deepika’s career, meanwhile, goes from strength to strength. The Bollywood star is best known in the West for the xXx franchise with Vin Diesel and fans are still being kept waiting for any news about xxx 4.
Back home, Deepika’s next film in cinemas will be the hard-hitting Chhapaak.
