Sainsbury’s, Aldi, Lidl and Waitrose issue urgent food recall over health warnings

Sainsbury’s, Aldi, Lidl and Waitrose customers ought to be aware of a number of food recalls made by the supermarkets recently.

A number of foods have had warnings issued due to unreported allergens on the menu.

These include hot cross buns and a microwave burger.

Aldi cheese cakes have been recalled over fears of broken glass in the product.

Sainsbury’s

Deliciously Free From Four Fruity Hot Cross Buns

All date codes up to and including best before 16 August

These fruity hot cross buns may accidentally contain chocolate chips which have undeclared soya.

Britons who have bought a pack can return them for full refund from the shop.

Aldi

Two Key Lime Cheesecakes (170 g) batch code 10975

Two Millionaire’s Cheesecakes (180 g) batch code 10975

These cheesecakes are being recalled because the glass pots they come in might be damaged and therefore post a rink to consumers.

You can get a full refund from any Aldi store.

Lidl

SpeedFeast Quarter Pounder with Cheese

Pack size: 195 g

Best-before date: 2019-08-23 (23 August 2019)

The SpeedFeast Quarter Pounder with Cheese has had the wrong label put on the base of the packet meaning the ingredients are incorrect.

Those with allergies or intolerances to egg, milk and sesame must be very careful not to eat the product. Anyone who has bought it can return it to Lidl and get a full refund.

Waitrose

Waitrose Sweet Potato and Coconut Soup

Pack size: 400 g

Use-by date: 25 August 2019

Waitrose Roasted Tomato, Bean and Quinoa Soup

Pack size: 400 g

Use-by date: 25 August 2019

These soups contain soya which is not mentioned on the label. You can return the soups to Waitrose for a full refund.

Another Sainsbury’s food recall was issues recently over a vegan spread.

A warning was issued for the spreadable product, sold in Sainsbury’s, amid allergy fears.

The Food Standards Agency said: “Naturli’ Foods is recalling Naturli’ Organic Vegan Spreadable because it may contain milk which is not mentioned on the label.

“This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.”
