Pokemon Sword and Shield secrets discovered by Nintendo Switch fans

Pokemon Sword and Shield developer Game Freak may have revealed more than anticipated during the recent Nintendo Switch Direct conference.

Nintendo and Game Freak made some major new Sword and Shield announcements during a lengthy Direct conference earlier this week.

The Nintendo Switch game will have more Trainer customisation options, including the ability to change hairstyles and wear makeup.

Players will also be able to set up camps when exploring the Galar region, and can even cook up a selection of curry dishes.

New Pokemon were also revealed, including a Ghost Pokemon called Polteagiest that lives in a teapot, and a Flying/Water Pokemon called Cramorant that spits out fish.

Interestingly, however, Cramorant’s fish-based counter-attack move may also have inadvertently revealed another new Pokemon for Sword and Shield.

As Newsweek points out, the fish gathered up and spat up by Cramorant is likely to be another new Pokemon that players can catch and evolve.

Take a look at the screengrab below for another look at Cramorant and the mysterious fish Pokemon.

Another secret new Pocket Monster may also have been spied in the latest Sword and Shield trailer.

As you can see from the image above, two stone figures can be seen in the background of the Galar port.

Whether these are new Pokemon remains to be seen, but they certainly look like it.

The upcoming Pokemon sequel was recently given a November 15 release date, exclusively on Nintendo Switch.

The game contains lots of new features and a new generation of Pokemon, not to mention a brand new location loosely based on the United Kingdom.

One of the headline new features is called Dynamaxing, which transforms Pocket Monsters into huge beasts with more powerful special moves.

New starter Pokemon include a chimp called Grookey, a rabbit called Scorbunny and a water lizard known as Sobble.

Expect even more new features to be announced ahead of the Nintendo Switch release date in November.
