Melania Trump savaged on Twitter after attending ‘momentous occasion’ – ‘Tarnished!’

The First Lady was present at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts for the launch of the new Welcome Pavilion. Speaking at the centre, Melania Trump labelled the event as a “momentous occasion for the arts”.

The First Lady also praised the Kennedy Center for being a “powerful tool” for bringing people together.

After the event, the First Lady tweeted her pleasure at being present at the Kennedy Center but that statement was soon attacked by users on twitter.

One user wrote: “Can’t wait until you are gone!”

Another also offered their commiserations to the Kennedy Center following their event with the First Lady.

“Yet you do it with such class.”

Melania was caught up in controversy after it emerged that her personal website had claimed that she obtained a degree in design and architecture from a university in Slovenia.

While Donald Trump was President-elect the government website said Melania “paused her studies to advance her modelling career in Milan and Paris”.

However, the site did not conclude whether Melania resumed or complete the degree.

Moreover, the bio did not state when or where she completed the degree but merely claimed that she was working as a model at the time and “jetting between photo shoots in Paris and Milan”.

The website no longer contains any information of the First Lady’s academic career.

Blaz Matija Vogelnik, a professor who said he briefly taught her at Slovenia’s University of Ljubljana, told NBC News she did not complete his course.

He said: “She hasn’t finished university, at least not in Ljubljana.

“My personal opinion is that, because she was a very beautiful girl, I believe that she realised that she could gain more with that than to have long studies.”

Mr Vogelnik noted, however, that his former student did pass a rigorous test to gain entry to the University and that “her IQ was very high.”
