EastEnders fans picked up on a number of blunders the police made in the BBC soap as they handled Hunter Owen’s (played by Charlie Winters) Queen Vic siege.
The young fugitive intended on getting revenge on Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) who was partly responsible for his arrest.
However, when the Queen Vic punters realised Hunter was holding Jack at gunpoint, Hunter kept the entire pub hostage in a bid to keep control.
Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) was then left fighting for his life after getting caught in the crossfire.
Viewers watching the tense scenes picked up on a number of blunders the police made as they tried to convince Hunter to hand himself over to authorities.
Despite police surrounding the Square almost immediately after the first gunshot was sounded, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) managed to find his way in.
Realising his son had been shot, and his daughter, Louise (Tilly Keeper) was held captive, Phil crept into the pub armed with a crow bar.
At the front of the Queen Vic police refused to let any Walford residents through while leaving the back door to the pub wide open.
Later on in the episode, Hunter walked out into the Square with Louise at gunpoint.
Hunter then shot Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) as he rushed towards his fiancé.

But before the teen could turn the gun onto Louise, he was shot dead by the armed response unit.
However, the police failed to move in and secure the weapon, leaving Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite) to run over and cradle her son with the gun lying next to the pair.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted the blunders and took to social media to comment.
One said: “#EastEnders brilliant tonight @MaxBowden @tony_clay76 outstanding as were the whole cast but how comes the gun wasn’t taken away when Hunter was shot by the police.”
Another added: “’We’ve got the Square covered with armed police’ ermm except the back door… the way Phil got into the pub #EastEnders @bbceastenders.”
“Why didn’t the police cover the exits from the pub that Phil casually walked through? #EastEnders,” a third wrote.
“Very good and all but I’m sure the police would have dropped him far more quickly after he shot Keanu, and why wasn’t he being swarmed by officers at the end? Mel wouldn’t have got anywhere near him! #EastEnders,” another tweeted.
A fifth said: “Would help if the police made the weapon safe rather than walking away lol #EastEnders.”
Another commented: “What a dramatic ending for Hunter, couldn’t help but laugh that not once did the police try and find an entry point into the Vic… but of all people Phil Mitchell made it in with a crowbar #EastEnders.”
