YAHOO MAIL DOWN
UPDATE ONE: Yahoo Mail has been suffering from issues for over an hour now.
The American firm has now acknowledged the outage plaguing its website and email client.
In a statment, it said: “You may not be able to access some of our services, including email.
“Our top priority right now is getting this fixed.
“We appreciate your patience.”
ORIGINAL STORY: Yahoo Mail is a popular email service that rivals the likes of Gmail and Outlook.
However, this morning it seems Yahoo Mail is suffering from a severe outage.
Independent outage monitor Downdetector has registered over 4,200 reports from users insisting Yahoo Mail was not working properly.
Of those, 66 percent of them were said to be from users having trouble logging-in to Yahoo Mail.
A further 25 percent were stated to have issued with the website itself and a further eight percent were struggling to read their mail.
A map on the site showed affected areas – the UK and a number of territories in Asia were noted to have been hit hardest by the server problem.
In response to the outage, a cavalcade of Yahoo Mail users have taken to Twitter to express their frustration.
One said: “Probably the only time I need Yahoo and it’s down.”
Another wrote: “All of Yahoo’s NS servers are down.
“That’s an impressive amount of fail.”
A third declared: “Omg what happened Yahoo.”
In addition to Yahoo Mail, it seems Yahoo’s website it also down.
Yahoo does not appear to have acknowledged the ongoing outage.
It is currently unclear what has caused the issues with Yahoo Mail this morning.
Moreover, it is also unknown when the service will be working properly again.
