Path of Exile Blight release time, PS4 and Xbox One launch date countdown

It won’t be long before fans are exploring the new Path of Exile Blight expansion on all platforms.

Preparations for the big update have been proceeding throughout the week, including a new patch being released.

This will no doubt include all the much needed new content to make the Path of Exile Blight release date on PC run smoothly on Friday, September 6.

But it should be noted that while PC gamers will soon have access to the free Blight DLC, gamers on PS4 and Xbox One will have an additional wait.

While it may seem disappointing to have to wait a few extra days, the fact that all players will have access to the new expansion near the same time is pretty impressive.

Path of Exile only recently launched on the PlayStation platform and PS4 gamers won’t have much longer to wait than those on PC.

PATH OF EXILE RELEASE DATE SCHEDULE AND TIMING

Path of Exile Blight is coming first to PC on September 6, followed by Xbox One and PS4.

The good news is that Path of Exile Blight on consoles will be launching soon after, on September 9.

It will mean waiting an extra weekend before getting your hands on the new content but everything else should be the same.

For Path of Exile PC gamers, the new Blight expansion should be arriving at around 9pm BST on Friday, September 6.

This is what the official countdown timer on the Blight site states and should mean that gamers in the US can start playing at 1pm PST.

No fixed time has been set for the console launch on Monday, but there is no reason to believe it will not follow the PC schedule.

For those who might not have played Path of Exile before, it’s an action role-playing supported by microtransactions.

Proving to be a massive hit on PC, PoE is now available on PS4 and Xbox One and is free-to-play on all platforms.

It’s a game that is regularly updated with free content, with Blight the latest expansion to launch.

In Path of Exile: Blight, you must stop the spread of the deadly Blight by building towers to defend against monsters held in its thrall.

The September update contains the Blight challenge league, three revamped balance archetypes with new skills and support gems, new items, and two old leagues being integrated into the core game.

As mentioned above, it’s a significant expansion which is changing a lot of stuff behind the scenes and isn’t just focused on Tower Defence gameplay.

More information from Grinding Gear Games can be found below ahead of the Path of Exile release date:

“Blight combines the fast, frantic action of Path of Exile’s combat with the strategic fun of tower defence games.

“To successfully defeat the Blight, you need to make decisions on the fly, stay aware of your surroundings, and plan for what may lay ahead.

“Successfully defending Cassia’s pump rewards you with valuable weapons and armour, and special oils which Cassia can use to anoint your rings and amulets with powerful enchantments.

“Alongside the tower defence gameplay of Blight comes a bumper crop of new skills, items and balance changes.

“This update provides significant balance improvements to the Necromancer archetype, with new defensive options like the Meat Shield Skill Gem, Support Gems which augment the AI of your minions (making them more aggressive or defensive) updates to existing minion-themed items, and an overhaul of the Necromancer Ascendancy class.”
