IT Chapter Two: The Shining Easter Egg REVEALED – did you spot it?

IT Chapter Two is in cinemas from today. Fans are desperate to see the continuation of the 2017 film, IT. But did you spot the Easter egg from another famous Stephen King novel?

**WARNING IT CHAPTER TWO SPOILERS**

What is The Shining Easter egg in IT Chapter Two?

After the Losers Club each experience It in a different way, they must use what memories they have collected to try and defeat Pennywise.

So, after returning to the horrific site of their first battle, they are separated and forced to face their fears before they can take It on once and for all.

In their separation, Ben and Beverly (played by Jay Ryan and Jessica Chastain) are sent to deal with their own fears.

Ben is left in their former den while Beverly is forced into a blood-filled toilet stall.

At this moment, some of the people she hates the most start trying to push open the door, including the old woman she escaped from earlier in the film, her abusive husband, foe Henry Bowers and her evil father.

But at one point, one of her foes pushes his head part-way through the door and yells “Here’s Johnny!”

This, of course, is a reference to The Shining, when the mad-driven Jack Torrance breaks through the bathroom door to try to kill his wife, Wendy.

Are there any other Stephen King Easter eggs in IT Chapter Two?

There is more than just an Easter egg, but in fact a cameo by the man himself.

Mid-way through the film, James McAvoy’s Bill Denbrough spots his old bike in a shop.

He heads in and meets an antiques dealer, played by Stephen King in a short cameo.

The cameo is a little longer than most, as the pair get into talking about novels and their endings, before Bill offers to sign his mystery novel, which is sitting on Stephen’s desk.
