The Chase: Bradley Walsh leaves fans furious after accepting 'wrong' answer

The Chase host Bradley Walsh pitted a new group of contestants against Anne Hegerty this evening.

Unfortunately for Bradley, Anne was playing well and managed to kick three of the four players out of the competition before the final chase.

Luckily for him, one diligent player did manage to get through to the final, Ben.

Ben struggled himself to get through to the next round, but ultimately managed to accumulate a £5,000 prize pool to play for against Anne.

The one-on-one shootout was extremely tense for viewers, as Ben pushed back Anne a number of times when she slipped up on some simpler questions.

Despite this, Anne did eventually catch Ben and send him home with nothing.

But one of the final questions focussed on what kind of kitchen appliance a Nutri Bullet is.

Anne quickly answered: “Juicer,” before stopping and correcting herself to say: “Blender!”

Bradley accepted this correct answer, but fans of the show were not happy he didn’t accept the first answer she gave – the incorrect assessment of “juicer”.

The crowd began lashing out on Twitter, with one writing: “It’s a blender… not a juicer!! #TheChase.”

Another said: “How can they accept ‘it’s a juicer no blender’ on the chase… surely gotta accept the first answer #thechase.”

With another agreeing: “Juicer? It’s a blender and that was her second answer. Brad you cad! #TheChase.”

While another poked: “She said juicer first… wrong it’s a blender I demand an enquiry #TheChase.”

Unfortunately when all was said and done Ben went home without any extra cash.

Earlier this week chaser Paul Sinha dropped the ball as he saw three contestants beat him and go home with £25,000 each.

Paul simply couldn’t keep up with the last steps accumulated in the final chase, leaving him without a chance of winning.

Fans of the show were ecstatic about the huge win, and began praising the team on Twitter.

One began: “Couldn’t have asked for a better start to the new run of episodes than that. Well done team.”

Another added: “WOW well done #TheChase contestants. £75.000 smakeroos between three.”

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
