Louise Redknapp: ‘Hate to let anyone down’ Jamie Redknapp’s ex talks ‘tears’ amid sad news

Louise Redknapp said there had been “clashes” in relation to her new album Heavy Love, and she needed to let fans “down”.

The former Eternal hitmaker said her record company had asked her to put the realise date back, something that hadn’t been “easy”.

The 44-year-old said “a lot of tears” had gone into making it and she wanted to give it the time it deserved.

In view of her 700,000 followers across the two platforms, she shared a lengthy, heartfelt statement today.

Louise started: “To all my incredible fans, old and new, who’ve supported me in pre-ordering my new album Heavy Love.

“Due to clashes between my 9-5 schedule in October, and the fact that it means missing key promotional opportunities around the launch of the album; my record company has asked me to push back the album release date a little.”

The mother-of-two continued: “This has not been an easy decision and I hate to let anyone down. Heavy Love has been two years in the making with blood, sweat and (a lot!) of tears.

“And so I want to fully commit to its release, and showing it off to its fullest potential. With this in mind it feels like the right thing to do.”

However, Louise did offer a “small token of my appreciation” for the support she has received.

She wrote: “I have a special song for you available for you to downland on Friday.

“It’s called Breaking Back Together, and it’s very dear to my heart. I hope you love it. The new release date for the album is January 17, 2020.”

Louise signed off: “I look forward to giving my all to the album and to you my fans. Lots of love.”

She went on to respond to one fan, who replied: “It still gives me two months to learn your new songs to sing a long when i see you live.”

The star tweeted simply: “Yessss!!!!” with a black hear and microphone emoji.

Others remarked: “Been looking forward to it. But we understand. We want the album to do its best so more will listen to it and enjoy it like we do.”

And: “It’s only a few more months wait. I think I can (just about) cope!”

Meanwhile, it comes just hours after her ex husband Jamie attended the GQ Men Of The Year Awards 2019 solo.

The 46-year-old looked dapper as he walked the red carpet in a smart black suit with a matching dark shirt and bow tie.

Louise did not attend the star-studded event and was instead seen on a train to Birmingham with 9 To 5 co-star Amber Davies, 22.

They are embarking on a three-month tour of the UK with the Dolly Parton musical.
