It’s been almost 17 years since Bad Boys II and now Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are reuniting for a third and final instalment in their action-comedy trilogy. The films follow Miami detectives Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) and Mike Lowrey (Will Smith), with the first two being directed by Michael Bay. Now the pair are finally back for Bad Boys 3, after the film spent a decade in production hell, going through various writers and directors in the development process. Directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, Bad Boys For Life’s first trailer has landed and looks to be a lot of fun.
The official synopsis reads: “Marcus Burnett is now a police inspector and Mike Lowrey is in a midlife crisis.
“Both of them unite again when an Albanian mercenary, whose brother they defeated, promises them an important bonus in revenge just as the duo are about to retire officially.”
With this being the final entry, will the Bad Boys make it out alive?
After all, the tagline on the trailer reads: “Ride together. Die together.”
Speaking at Cannes Film Festival, he said “Let me just say something about the ‘last’ of anything.
“I thought Rocky 3 was the last, you know. So I don’t know anything. If it works I’ll just keep going, you know because I enjoy it so much.”
Originally there was going to be a Bad Boys 4 too, so who know if Bad Boys For Life is really the end of the road for Mike and Marcus?
