Melania Trump: 'Michelle is TRUE First Lady' FLOTUS suffers backlash as tribute backfires

The First Lady was snubbed online as Twitter users said Michelle Obama is the “true First Lady” despite not holding office for more than two years. Melania’s heartfelt video of her time at the conference was met with harsh criticisms of her Be Best campaign and husband, Donald Trump’s administration. Many social media users noted her “tourism trip” was paid for by taxpayers.

One person said: “Michelle Obama is the TRUE First Lady With Class, Grace, Humility, Honour, Compassion, Elegance, Intelligence and Humour right here.”

Another added: “So good at walking, and doing almost nothing.”

A third person said: “Don’t you just love First Lady Michelle Obama?”

However, fans of the first lady loved the video and thanked her for looking so “elegant”.

One said: “Haven’t had such a great first lady like Melania in almost 60 years.

“She’s beautiful, proud, smart and represents the better part of the American people with unmatched grace.”

Melania received a great deal of backlash following her visit to the G7 summit.

People suggested she “loves” Justin Trudeau after she was pictured greeting the Canadian Prime Minister with an air kiss.

Melania and Donald Trump are clearly loved up in their long marriage, and body language expert Judi James explained the stills to Express.co.uk.

She said: “With her husband’s hilarious over-pucker as he leant to cheek-kiss Angela Merkel, Melania showed the smooth way to approach the ritual with the very charming Trudeau, with the pair ending up looking like a Vogue ad while Trump stared grimly in the background.”

Explaining why these sorts of platonic interactions can cause confusion when caught on camera Judi said: “The trouble with air-kisses is that they do look dramatic when frozen for a photo.

“Melania was clearly just aiming for Trudeau’s cheek for a pitch-perfect ritual and it’s only the camera angle that makes it look like anything more romantic!”
