Elon Musk bombshell: SpaceX supremo reveals shock detail on what humans must do to survive

Mr Musk has often spoken about the future of planetary exploration and the technology and during a World Artificial Intelligence conference in Shanghai, he made yet another prediction. Speaking to fellow tech mogul, Jack Ma, Mr Musk revealed one of the options left to society in order to ensure its future.

Commenting on the continuation of the “human consciousness”, Mr Musk insisted that Mars may well be key in continuing human life.

When asked by Mr Ma why he was particularly interested in Mars, Mr Musk answered that the planet provides a key route for the human race to progress towards “continuing consciousness into the future”.

Mr Musk said: “I think it is important for us to continue the likeliest set of actions that continue consciousness into the future.

“We should not take for granted that consciousness will continue into the future.

“One of the actions to increase the future of consciousness is to become a multi-planet species or ensure that life is multi-planetary.”

Although Mr Musk insisted that he did not believe that the world “is doomed” he warned that there is a “certainly probability” that something will happen to Earth in the future.

He concluded that: “This is the first time in the 4.5 billion year history of Earth that it’s been possible to extend the life beyond earth.

“How long will this window be open?

Speaking on Neuralink’s work on AI technology, Mr Musk warned that as it stands, human’s are “hopelessly inadequate” in comparison.

He added: “Hopeless in terms of rendering, basically there is a smaller and smaller corner of intellectual pursuits that humans are better than computers.

“Every year it gets smaller and smaller.

“And soon we will be far surpassed in every single way, guaranteed.

“Or all civilisation will end, those are the two possibilities.”

Also at the same conference, the tech mogul also spoke of the US Government being in contact with aliens.

Although some have speculated that the US Government has covered up any potential meeting, Mr Musk rubbished any such claims.

He said: “There are people out there who think we have found aliens.

“Trust me, I would know: We have not.

“People ask me if I have been to Area 51. Ok, please.

“SpaceX actually has area 59 and it’s eight better than area 51.”
