Red Dead Redemption 2 UPDATE: Big PC news ahead of Red Dead Online Summer DLC

The next Red Dead Redemption 2 online update is going to be big for gamers on PS4 and Xbox One, and it looks like the PC release might not be far behind.

Rockstar Games has some ambitious plans for Red Dead Online in 2019, starting with the launch of the Summer expansion.

The development team have already hinted at how they hope to make Red Dead Online a different experience to GTA 5 Online.

RDR multiplayer is set to get a more MMO-style of DLC, which will be arriving this month.

Summer officially ends near the end of September, meaning the new expansion should be with us promptly.

It still gives Rockstar Games a few weeks to tease the latest content, but many gamers are hoping for something in the coming days.

The new Red Dead Online Summer update will add more RPG elements, such as new career paths for their character.

This will open up new options in Red Dead Redemption 2, which is different from what we have seen so far in GTA Online.

And hopes have been raised that we may find out more about Rockstar’s plans this week.

It has been noticed that the company has updated its Twitch Prime Rewards page, which could be an early indicator that something is coming for RDO.

This remains speculation for now, but with the timer now ticking down to the end of September, something should be shared pretty soon.

This could mean an announcement being released by Rockstar as early as Tuesday, September 3.

A trailer showcasing the new content coming to the game would no doubt prove popular with PS4 and Xbox One gamers.

And this could even be followed by a launch soon after, as Rockstar is known for quick turnarounds.

This might not be the only big news shared by the RDO development team in 2019.

Many gamers were intrigued by the news that a mystery product was denied classification in Australia from the famous studio.

Details were very vague, with the name Bonaire the only piece of evidence tying the project with Red Dead Redemption 2.

But since it was first spotted by fans online, a new report has surfaced, suggesting that Bonaire is the code name for the PC version RDR2.

It comes from a well-known Rockstar Games tracker, TezFunz, a Twitter account that has shared plenty of valuable info in the past.

“Rockstar mysterious title called “Bonaire” is the code name for RDR2 PC,” the TezFunz account posted this week.

“As to why it was refused classification is unknown, but I would assume it’s because of something new within the PC version as the Australian government seems to be okay with the console versions.”

A further post suggests that the added component could be a Rockstar Editor, something that has raised issues before.

“Interesting enough, the Australian Classification Board had problems with GTAV Rockstar Editor back in 2015.

“It won’t surprise me if they are having problems with RDR2 Rockstar Editor which should be coming with the PC version.”

We can’t be sure when Rockstar Games will share news regarding the PC port, but gamers will have their fingers crossed for a 2019 release date.
