PS Plus September 2019 free PS4 games countdown: PlayStation Plus launch time and lineup

PlayStation Plus subscribers are counting down to the release of the September 2019 free PS4 games.

The next batch of PlayStation Plus free games have a September 3 release date on PS4.

This means PS Plus subscribers will be able to download and play the games around 9am UK time.

Revealed by Sony last week, the next wave of PS Plus freebies includes Batman Arkham Knight and Darksiders 3.

The new titles will replace Rebellion’s stealth shooter Sniper Elite 4, as well as first-party Sony release WipEout Omega Collection.

September is a high profile month for PS Plus, featuring games from two well respected franchises.

With a Metascore of 87%, Batman Arkham Knight is the pick of the bunch.

The third game in Rocksteady’s Arkham trilogy, Arkham Knight brings the Caped Crusader’s story to an end.

“In Batman: Arkham Knight, the explosive finale to the Arkham series, Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect,” reads the official description.

“Also included is the PlayStation Exclusive Scarecrow Nightmare Missions, in which Gotham falls victim to Scarecrow’s fear toxin, transforming the famous city into a twisted, hellish nightmare.”

Arkham Knight is infamous for introducing the Batmobile into the Arkham series, although perhaps to its detriment.

Perhaps if it hadn’t it would have been an even bigger hit with critics.

Darksiders 3, on the other hand, earned a respectable 64% score on Metacritic.

The game was criticised for borrowing a little too heavily from franchises such as Dark Souls.

“Return to an apocalyptic Earth in Darksiders III, a hack-n-slash Action Adventure where players assume the role of FURY in her quest to hunt down and dispose of the Seven Deadly Sins,” reads the official description.

Both games can be downloaded by PS Plus subscribers for free on September 3.
