Game of Thrones season 8 revealed George RR Martin’s planned ending for A Song of Ice and Fire. From season 6 onwards, the author had to reveal his planned narrative for unreleased books The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring to the showrunners. But now the TV show is over, fans are working out which major plot points will occur at what point during the remaining couple of novels. Now a new fan prediction reckons two major events from Game of Thrones season 7 will occur by the end of The Winds of Winter.
According to RTE, the author said during his speech: “My latest book Fire and Blood is a work of imaginary history and A Song of Ice and Fire is a work of fiction, fantasy novels, which I will finish.”
This was met with laughs from the audience in attendance.
He apologised: “I know I should be at home writing right now, I’m sorry!”
George RR Martin hopes The Winds of Winter will release by summer 2020.
